Assam produces some of the world's finest teas, and this 5-day tour invites you to experience the life of a tea planter. You will stay in exquisitely restored heritage bungalows surrounded by endless rolling green carpets of tea bushes.

Beyond the tea estates, this itinerary delves deep into the cultural heart of Assam. You will cross the mighty Brahmaputra River to reach Majuli Island—a hub of Neo-Vaishnavite culture and ancient monasteries (Satras). You'll also step back in time in Sivasagar, the erstwhile capital of the formidable Ahom dynasty that ruled Assam for over six centuries, leaving behind magnificent architectural marvels.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Jorhat & Heritage Tea Bungalow

• Morning: Arrive at Jorhat Airport, the "Tea Capital of the World." You will be greeted and transferred to your luxurious heritage tea bungalow.
• Afternoon: Settle in and enjoy a traditional British-style high tea on the veranda, overlooking the manicured lawns and tea gardens.
• Evening: Take a guided stroll through the estate, interacting with the tea pluckers. Return for a lavish planter's dinner.

Day 2: The Art of Tea & Sivasagar Heritage

• Morning: Begin with a comprehensive tea tour. Walk through the estate to understand the tea plucking process, followed by a visit to the factory to witness the withering, rolling, and oxidation phases. Conclude with a professional tea tasting session.
• Afternoon: Drive to Sivasagar (approx. 1.5 hours). Explore the remarkable remnants of the Ahom Kingdom, including the Rang Ghar (an ancient amphitheater), Talatal Ghar (a sprawling palace with underground tunnels), and the Shiva Dol, one of the tallest Shiva temples in India.
• Evening: Return to your bungalow in Jorhat for a relaxing evening and dinner.

Day 3: Journey to Majuli Island

• Morning: After an early breakfast, drive to Nimati Ghat and board a river ferry across the expansive Brahmaputra River to Majuli, the largest river island in the world.
• Afternoon: Check into a traditional bamboo cottage. Visit the revered Satras (monasteries), starting with Kamalabari or Auniati Satra. Witness the monks' devotion, traditional dances, and mask-making arts.
• Evening: Experience a spectacular sunset over the river. Enjoy a simple, authentic Assamese dinner prepared by the local Mishing community.

Day 4: Exploring Majuli & Return to Jorhat

• Morning: Spend the morning exploring the local villages on bicycles. Interact with the Mishing tribe, known for their exceptional handloom weaving, and perhaps purchase some exquisite traditional textiles.
• Afternoon: Take the ferry back to Nimati Ghat and transfer back to a tea estate or a premium hotel in Jorhat.

Day 5: Departure from Jorhat/Guwahati

• Morning: Enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Depending on your flight schedule, you can do some last-minute tea shopping.
